shamelessly stolen meme type entry that allows me to not deal w/ reality here.

shamelessly stolen (both of 'em) from my hetero life mate, Mercutio-ette.

100 things I like.

1. smoking. There, I said it. I have loved every cigerette I've ever smoked.
2. when I take off my glasses and clean 'em real good and then put 'em back on.....how suddenly clear everything is.
3. the color pink, in all its shades.
4. greek mythology.
5. CSI, (esp the freaky deaky bug man. mmmm....gil, you're so smart, so angst-ridden, so...arrogant. You make me wet in places that 2 generations ago women didn't admit they had.
6. herbal teas, esp. red ones.
7. That very first sip of coffee in the morning.
8. my pink stuffed peep.
9. calculators that are built right into my cell phone.
10. hell, come to think of it..my cell phone. I love that biyotch.
11. When you write a sentence and its perfect. I don't necessairly mean spelling or grammatically...that's important, but its not art. Just the words on the page and they're all in just the right spot.
12. books. Not valuable ones, I don't want to mollycoddle them or protect them. But the way they feel, the odor of the freshly turned pages, and the worlds they can take me to w/o ever having to leave my bed.
13. ok, this one is kinda sick. pain pills. I don't take 'em if I don't need 'em, but become positivly gleeful at the prospect of getting to spend a day or two laying on my back admiring the unicorn maiden who lives on my ceiling.
14. almost any and all things harry potter. The people who are making/wearing the "_____________________ dies on page _____." shirts ought to be locked in a closet w/ a boggart and an ravenous blast-ended skrewt.
15. having friends you can call any time, day or night, drunk or sober, and they will stop whatever it is they're doing to deal w/ whatever self-perpetuating emotional crises you've gotten into that day.
16. hair dye.
17. jasmine scented lotion/body spray from the healing garden, esp used w/ ylang ylang shower gel. yummy, sexy, and pretty.
18. the vanilla jasmine scented stuff at bath and body works. mmmmmm. I get a bit frisky whenever I smell it.
19. finding something you thought was irretrievably lost.
20. seeing my name in print.
21. tetris. I can play for hours.
22. going to the movies. Nothing quite like it.
23. battlestar gallactica. that is one HELL of a show. (*psst, starbuck, call me)
24. having pork chops for breakfast.
25. Shakespeare.
26. Heavenly Creatures.
27. KEVIN SMITH!!!
28. that moment where you realize that the headache, Thank you Dear God, is gone at last.
29. hearing a baby fuss, talk, or generally make inappropriate noises in church, and the parents desperate attempts to shush it while everyone smiles indulgently at the little one.
30. Knowing really obscure bible facts and impressing the hell out of people w/ them.
31. when your in the car driving along and a song you really really like comes on the radio and you girl-squeel, proclain ownership of the song ("that's my song!" or occasionally, if one is feeling saucy, "that's my jam!") and turning the radio up as loud as it can go.
32. no joy, no rapture, no exquiste sin like central air.
33. When I know something that somebody I really respect and like doesn't.
34. thick black tights w/ short black skirts in the winter.
35. the first morning its cool enough to need a sweatshirt.
36. the first morning its warm enough to not need it.
37. Halloween.
38. valerien and melatonin.
39. my black skirt that has a bit of a pleat and a bit of a swing to it, and I feel so sexy when i wear it.
40. writing in my blog/journaling.
41. that blondbunny talked me out of cutting my hair two days ago, cuz today I am loving it like it was mcdonalds.
42. vanilla diet coke
43. lo-carb monster, no-fear, and rock star.
44. vanilla run and diet coke....or, even better, vanilla rum and vanilla diet coke.
45. chapstick. cuz my lips hurt real bad.
46. the artist Steve Hanks (though when talking about him to people, I tend to say "tom hanks", which is funny). He paints the most beautiful nudes I've ever seen.
47. happy bunny. Thank you for being ugly. It makes me laugh.
48. mani/pedis.
49. pictures my kids draw.
50. ok, heres a bizarre one. I love looking at wedding gowns. I can read bridal magazines for hours and hours and hours. Not that I want to get married again! Gawd, no! but the pretty pretty dresses please me.
51. to-do lists, shopping lists, any kind of list that keeps my focused and on track instead of ...well, writing lists of 100 things I like.
52. big weapon like round hair brushes.
53. a really cold beer on a really hot day.
54. getting a text you weren't expecting.
55. When i hear somebody else use an expression that I made up. (goat-rodeo being the most prime example of this)
56. pink and teal together have always pleased me mightily, but I'm not sure why.
57. am also very partial to pink/black together, but only the lighter shades of pink, esp. lite, lite baby pink.
58. my authors bio in the college literary magazine I write for that describes me as writing as if steven king and anne rice had a love child, and its godmother was anais nin.
59. SOME fantasy novels. now, the some is important, cuz a lot of it I hate. but the stuff that I love, I LOVE. (yay, grrm!! yay, ml!!!)
60. emails from friends you haven't heard from in a while that aren't that forwarded inspirational/funny bullshit.
61. Playing trivia games.
62. Unpacking. Is like Christmas to yourself,hey I forgot I packed that! Cool!
63. finding a disposable camara you forgot you had and getting the pics devloped and they're pics of something really cool, a party or a special friend.
64. hummingbirds.
65. tattoos. on myself, on others, doesn't matter.
66. being up before or after everybody in the house is asleep, and its quite and peaceful.
67. Musicals. All ranges of them, from the oh-so-corny rogers and hammerstein works to the edgier stuff of fosse to the over the top splendor of mouloun rouge to the WAY over the top operatics of Webber. I can only think of one I didn't like that I've ever seen. Am positivly in an orgasmic dither over the upcoming releases of Rent and The Producers.
68. New clothes.
69. when all my bodily functions are working the way they should (BS good, IBS behaving, no reflux)
70. being the first person to see a movie/read a book and turning my friends on to it.
71. student loan checks.
73. blue eyeliner and masacra. I know, it sounds insanely 80's, but if it's done w/ a light enough hand, it does this.....thing to my eyes that just defies description.
74. a really sincere compliment from an unexpected source.
75. Smelling the first rose I see blooming in the spring.
76. English History.
77. A nice respectful polite debate.
78. my bathtub. The thing is bigger and deeper than most kiddy pools, and nothing will de-stress me faster than a long hot bath w/ lots of bubbles and good smelling candles about.
79. when my kids tell me how cool I am.
80. pretty much anything rose scented. Candles, incense, body products.
81. going to the theater, esp. the professional theater and seeing a quality performance.
82. As I'm wading through a lot of the dreck that I have to read for the college literary magazine I write for and finding an amazing piece of writing in amoungst the crap.
83. Movies that make me cry.
84. Macadamia nuts.
85. the way my mothers house smells.
86. seeing a slowly but surely increasing number of hybrids on the road.
87. the way a newborn babies head smells.
88. when the muse is upon me and the words are flowing.
89. When finally, after days of work, the house is clean and peaceful.
90. the dogwood tree in my front yard. The kids and the elements and the dog have abused this tree for years.....and yet, every spring, it still blooms.
91. buying thongs.
92. the smell of freshly washed bleached laundry.
93. surprises, esp. gifts.
94. having enough money in my pocket to treat my friends.
95. Flavored cigerettes. am particularly partial to the orange and warm toffee flavors of camels.
96. finding a really good bargain.
97. a fresh new notebook. all that clean paper, all the possipilities.
98. Getting letters.
99. Knowing that my kids, in spite of their wiseassery and occasional annoyingness are really good kids who I'm pretty sure I can trust to (most of the time) do the right things.
100. Being done w/ this list that took up way too much time and I never should have started!!!!!
